ROOM DESCRIPTIONS

When considering the Armstrong Browning Library as the site for your special function, please take into account its capabilities and its drawbacks. The elegance of the surroundings make this a perfect venue for special ceremonies, but a Baylor connection is required.

McLean Foyer of Meditation
The beautiful McLean Foyer of Meditation has marble columns, black walnut paneling, and three cathedral windows. Its focal point is the Cloister of the Clasped Hands, an area that has become known as the most romantic spot on the Baylor campus. A Mason & Hamlin grand piano graces the room; and because of the outstanding acoustics, this space is ideal for concerts, a capella choirs, and other musical events. A sound system is available.

Hankamer Treasure Room
The Hankamer Treasure Room, with its classic wood floors and hand-carved bookcases, is a room appropriate for formal meetings such as lectures and conferences. The John Broadwood piano is often used for musical performances; the room is an impressive setting for string, woodwind, or brass quartets. A sound system is available.
Capacity: 25 - 80, depending on type of function

Leddy-Jones Research Hall
Although used less often for events, the Leddy-Jones Research Hall can be reserved for breakout sessions during large conferences or workshops. Combine one to three of our rooms for that special brainstorming retreat.

Cox Lecture Hall
The Cox Lecture Hall has theatre-type seating and a large screen, making it a handy room for classroom presentations requiring audio/visual aids. Food and drinks are not permitted in this room.

Cox Reception Hall
Located on the first floor of the building, this area has easy outside access and is adjacent to the Gift Gallery and kitchen facility. This space is ideal for standing receptions, small luncheon or dinner parties, or coffee breaks for moments of relaxation during your conference. Short tours of the Library are available upon request during break times.
